The Recipe for Good SOPs

Cookbooks and recipes actually provide a pretty good jumping-off point for understanding how to set up SOPs.nestle toll house cookie
  • They tell you what you need.
  • They give you the steps in the order you need them.
  • They use pictures.
  • They are easy to read.
As anyone who has ever made cookies can attest, the closer you follow the instructions, the better the cookies. Thinking of Policies and Procedures as recipes is a great jumping-off point. Good SOPs have a few more ingredients than most baking recipes.

  • They tell you who performs or is affected by a particular policy or procedure.
  • They tell you when it happens.
  • They provide you with the context for the SOP.
The content overlay approach in Zavanta software prompts you through the content to collect in the order that makes it easiest for people to follow and understand.
